My older sis isnt far from you in Huntington Beach, off Yorktown.

I'm living part time in Oklahoma and part time in northern California. Was born and raised in the Oceanside area (ya,dad was a Marine. My mom was raised in LA area but her parents were from Oklahoma, and my dad was born and raised in Oklahoma). I moved to San Francisco after highschool to go to schools;after graduating I moved up to the Sonora area; now I have a small place off of Hwy 4 in Arnold.

Welcome aboard.
You should move here.
But you alrerady know that.:rolleyes2

The move to Tulsa has been a topic for quite some time. There are a lot of pros and cons for us to move. All of which include careers, money, owning a home, and family to name a few. I really like it out there but growing up at the beach has been good too.

Lived in Costa Mesa for 12 years - right off of Baker and Fairview. For being in the city, I loved it there. Lots of great food, some neat culture, and you gotta love being by the beach. Eventually the Newport/Orange County life just got to me, though, and I needed to get to a slower pace of life. I work for the Outdoor Channel and had been commuting to Temecula for a while, so they offered me a position in Tulsa and I nabbed it. Only been here about a month, but already in heaven.

I'd love to see pictures of that lease property. Sounds like heaven. Is it accessible by truck/trailer? I'd assume so if you already have trailers out there. Water/lectric can be pulled behind the truck. :) Boonies is what you really want - less disturbed the better!

Like I said, you ever want someone to help you in your "harvest", or just to hammer off some local hogs that might be gettin too comfortable there, you know who to call! :rubhands:

I know the area you lived very well as my son and I do Jiu Jitsu 30 seconds from that intersection. Working for the outdoor channel sound like an awesome job.

The camp as I said is on a greater 10K acre ranch so his lease is surrounded by other similar sized leased on the same property. It is in the sticks but still accessible by truck. I have some pictures attached below fo the camp and the biggest deer I harvested in 2008. 145 lb dressed 11 point.

As for having someone else at the camp, that's totally up to my FIL. He has had the lease for 35 years and is very particular who he allows to hunt. It does say it would be nice to have another person to help split the costs and work but he is a fairly solitary man. Doesn't put up with most people, infact he doesn't like most people. Great man but just the typical older country boy who grew up on small town Oklahoma. He HATES California. WacosSon, Question; How old are you and what do you hunt?

Velcome.

I know your sis's location too, nice area. I do have some family roots in the Telaquah (sp) area from my grand father who grew up on the reservation there. Long story short, his parents were killed in a car accident when he was little and adopted by the Parks family (my last name) and then they were told to leave the surrounding counties by the local sheriff or my great grandfather would have been put in jail for a certain crime that would most likely get you a capital crime charge these days. SO they headed to California.

Anyways commence the pic whoring:
