New Indoor Shooting Range Being Built Near Davis
A new indoor shooting range is
being built west of Davis. Those
interested in becoming members
are invited to an inaugural
meeting on Sunday, Jan. 29, at
1:30 p.m.
The meeting will be held in
the Davis Public Library meeting
room at 209 E. Benton.
Competition Shooters of Mid-
America, Inc., will operate the
range in its efforts to promote
shooting sports and offer firearms
education to the public.
It is expected that we will
eventually have members, not
only from Oklahoma, but all the
surrounding states, said Richard
Chadwick, CSMA co-founder.
The club is for those who
want to learn to be a better shot,
become more familiar and proficient
with their personal firearms,
and have a safe, comfortable
place to practice and compete,
he said.
Club members have yearround
access to the indoor range
and its clubhouse.
Although the range is a members-
only club, it will be open
to anyone wishing to participate
in any of its matches, training
camps, firearms familiarization
classes or basic and advanced
marksmanship training classes.
Even if you do not want to shoot
in competitions, you will enjoy
having a safe place to shoot,
he said.
The range will offer the following
shooting disciplines: conventional
and international pistol (22
to 45 caliber), conventional and
international smallbore rifle (22
caliber) and air pistol and air rifle
(.177 caliber).
Those joining in the inaugural
year of the club will be offered
special club privileges that will
only be available to them.
