There’s nothing they could’ve done about NIL, but when you combine that with the self-inflicted injury that is the Transfer Portal to Hell, they haven’t just disincentivized loyalty, they’ve incentivized disloyalty. There’s literally no price to pay for breaking your commitment, not even having to sit out a year, and there can be tremendous rewards for doing so.
