Anyone else use the Nowlin Lowrider rear sight on a GI type 1911? I bought one and put it on a 4" and it goes on in about 20 min. with no machine work. Seems to be a pretty slick thing and looks good too. Do a trial fit, then some Locktite and it's ready to go. It does require a taller front sight than the GI types, but that is not a big deal.

Just wondering.

Design was McCormick's, with a couple Nowlin mod's. It first hit the market about 2002. The sight was designed to shoot point-of-aim with a spec 5" Government Series '70 front. Not all 5" 1911's have barrels fitted to spec. It works on round top slides only. Also it will fit some Browning High Power rear sight notches, but will not necessarily match with the front sight.
