One of our kids in VA who regularly visits the NYC area on business sometimes has Katz Fedex us their dry-ice-packed Reuben Sandwich Package (four sandwiches worth). Includes a fresh loaf of marble rye, house mustard, kosher pickles, sauerkraut, Russian dressing, pastrami, etc. Absolutely delicious. It's very unlikely we will ever set foot in Manhattan, but lunch at the Katz Deli would be our first stop if we did.

Dang - just looked up on their website. $130 for the reuben package! I'm sure it's legit and best ever but kinda got sticker shock.
It ain’t cheap but looks like a nice Christmas or birthday present for my father. The man doesn’t want for much so it’s not easy coming up with present ideas.
LOL - yeah, it's definitely not cheap, like everything else in NYC (home of the $18 cheeseburger). But he's a fairly senior grade Army officer who makes decent money. Besides, we sent him to college back in the day.
Here's the deal. I've been wanting some Katz deli food for years. I'm betting, if you were walk in and buy 4 sandwiches and drink plus tip, you'd be close to $150. I have enough food delivered that will make 6-8 sandwiches and no tip or drinks for under $225. Plus, I don't have to step foot in NYC. Sometimes, you have to step out of your comfort zone.
