President Obama claimed Monday that a "consensus" is forming around the kinds of "common-sense" gun control measures he's pushing in Washington, in his first campaign-style stop as part of a second-term push for new firearms laws.

The president spoke in Minnesota after holding a roundtable meeting on gun violence with officials at the Minneapolis Police Department's Special Operations Center.

Obama is expected to make more trips around the country to build support for his anti-gun violence measures. The outside group Organizing For Action, an offshoot of Obama's presidential campaign, is also promoting the proposals.

White House officials say quick action on the president's gun measures gives them the best prospects for passing legislation in Congress. They fear that as time passes lawmakers will have less incentive to back the measures as the shock of the Newtown massacre fades.

Then I hope for delay after delay. :)

Whats sad is that instead of trying to go see what WE THE PEOPLE want he is going around telling us what he thinks we should want.

He is basically campaigning for his beliefs rather than worrying about the will of those he is trying to rule.

So the used car salesman coke dealer smooth talker is now trying to hustle gun owners out of their rights.....
As predicted he is zeroing in on the "harmless, reasonable universal background check".
Check this out for a likely scenario....

We need to make sure that scenario NEVER happens!
