I don't know, boys. I think I'll go down and buy a bunch of scratch-off tickets like all those people holding up the line at the convenience store.

Look at it like this:

All the raucous over the last week is just noise and makes little difference over a longer term.

  • The Federal Reserve cut its benchmark interest rate by 50 basis points Tuesday.
  • The move comes amid increasing unease over the economic effects from the novel coronavirus spread.
  • Stocks initially rallied sharply on the move but backed off in volatile trading.

The federal reserve just announced an emergency rate cut from 1.5% to 1% 2 weeks ahead of a scheduled meeting citing "risk to economic activity from the COVID-19"
The stock market liked it at first, turning up by more than 200 points but that didn't last long.

I predict helicopter money and more QE before Summer gets here.

How much has inflation cut into the gains on the stock market over time? Best make sure what you invest in will pay dividends for when the value of stocks doesn't rise.

I believe the big boys who 'play the market' cause the rises and falls in the value of stocks. Make everyone else's stock decline, buy it, then sell at a profit when there is enough of a rise in the market. These people may have net worth in the billions, but if there were to be a catastrophic collapse in the market, they could be looking for handouts from those who invested in themselves - you know, those of us who dropped seeds in a hole in the ground, covered the seeds with dirt and sprinkled water on them.

I invest in me.
