That’s just too dang easy to put meat in the freezer.
I’ve tried removing the screens from the windows but my boss “ wife” says no way in hell!! She has a safety zone around the house and I have to go beyond that. No worries because I wouldn’t call it hunting if I took one in the yard anyway.

Here, but occasionally There.

Back many moons ago when I actually hunted pheasant and such, I was always of the opinion that those with bird dogs couldn't hunt. My philosophy was that I was out there to shoot birds, so to use something else to increase my chances was dishonest. Give the "prey" as much advantage as possible.

Yep. The boss of me says the game in the yard are hers and will not be disturbed by me, so we just get to enjoy the scenery and marvel at the wildlife around the house. Sometimes they come look into the windows, so we should feel like the captives in a human zoo?
Sometimes they get a little too close when this 3 footer came alongside the wife's recliner through a small gap in the back door that has since been fixed and started climbing the wall on the fireplace. The ending wasn't pretty. She doesn't like snakes.

Meanwhile the 6’ one that like to stay outside and eat mice and rodents gets a free pass.

Decided to take this “random” photo while reading the “I hate all the outsiders moving here” thread :-). I did not move to OK (yet), just bought a quarter section for hunting. The photo shows a 2022 OK 6-point shed found by my gravity feeder vs the mounted 8-point rack of a Coues deer my son shot in 2021. Blame this outsider’s interest in OK on the deer and hogs. In OK, I can show up and hit the rifle limit in about 3 days (unless I shift from being a meat to a trophy hunter). Whereas in AZ one has to put in for a lottery draw even if you are a land owner (heck with that), so public land it is…where one has to hike and glass for days to spy a Coues buck “ghosts of the desert”. Save for the challenge Coues hunting provides, I like the “sure thang” of OK Whitetail hunting much better; FWIW I harvested an OK fork-horn and a large doe in the first three days of rifle season. Hoping for a bigger buck and another doe in 2023.

Appears to be a king snake! If so they will eat copperheads.

You will love the hunting opportunities available here.
If you lovingly invite enough people here by praising the hunting opportunities, eventually there won't be anything left to hunt. Seen it first-hand in Wyoming - more out-of-state plates than locals on opening day ☹️

Check out the trail-cam thread; so far, my investment in land, trash removal, habitat improvement, and supplementing the food supply is likely helping deer that spill over into/or come from the adjacent WMA land. I do understand the general concern though.
