First in line for the bleachers at Wrigley = Priceless

Dude, yes! I'm going back to Wrigley at the end of July, we have tickets for 2 games, both in the bleachers. There's a separate line for bleachers outside of center field, correct? If so, how early did you show up to get in line? We're staying at a hotel that's within walking distance and one of our games starts at 1:20. What time should we show up to guarantee first picks of bleacher seating? I've been told the line starts forming around 9 AM for a ~1:00 PM game.

I didn't take this, but I found it pretty interesting. If it's not obvious, it's a shot of the same section of sky at different times showing random planes.

Notice the guy in blue to the right? He got there at 8:00 in the morning with his Dad Mom and Sister. They wanted to be first in line. Well I rolled up at 9:00 and sat where the bricks start, they were right in front of the gates (way to the left of the picture). At about 10:30 some of the security staff showed up and let them know that the line starts behind me. They were mad, but then we sat right next to each other in right field (LEFT FIELD SUCKS) and were pals by the end of the day.

This was a Brewers game in mid July 2009, so I would say to be first, be there by 8:00 AM. My wife, brother, sister-in-law, her brother and his GF all went to the game, they all showed up at 11:00 or so, but I made my wife bring me breakfast at 10:00. You can pee across the street at the bar and they start serving at about 10 or 11.

Yes there are separate lines one on the Right field side one on the left field side. I like Soriano better than Fukudome.

Win lose or draw, go to the cubbie bear afterwards if you have just adults!

GO CUBBIES, This is the year!

1. Wait, they showed up at 8 and you got there at 9 and didn't let him in front of you after security sorted out the line? Hope you at least bought him a beer!

2. I imagine it'll be easier to tell where the line officially starts when I'm there, but are you standing where we should show up to be among the first in line?

3. Why does left field suck? We are looking forward to sitting behind the basket in left field.

1. This was my 5th time and had yet to be first, so no I cut them no breaks, which were not cut to me either my first time too. We were hugging and singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" by the time the stretch came around.

2. Yes where the brick meets the iron is the official start of the line. To the right of the picture is a brick wall about 500 feet long. To the left is green iron gates and pillars all the way until you get to the RF brick wall. So if you want LF your picture will look like the bizzaro version of mine with the brick on the right and iron gate on the left.

3. It's just a chant that the crowd gets going at slow times and is all in fun. I have sat in LF twice and the first time I received a "K" t-shirt when Kerry Woods got his 13th K. I had a blast. The other time I got a BP ball from Grace so pick what you like.

Don't touch the Ivy, you will be kicked out. Listen to the ushers, they can kick you out. Don't touch the basket, you could be kicked out (unless there is a ball coming).

This is the guy in blue, he was a dedicated fan as well!
