OK2A just put out this message:
A Letter From The President
As we get close to the end of the Legislative session, OK2A always begins to run short on funds. The problem is that, while during the session is the best time for us to raise money, it is also the most difficult due to the time required for advocacy work at the Capitol. Normally, this isn't such a problem; we just focus on raising money after the session is over, but this year is different. The OK2A News Hour will be coming back online on Sunday, May 18 and that requires money. Our corporate sponsors only pay for part of the expense of the show, which totals almost $1,000 a week. The News Hour has quickly become an important tool that helps get our message out effectively so we need to do something we don't normally do.
We have prided ourselves on the fact that we do not constantly send out calls for money as some organizations do. However, we must make that call now. We must keep the News Hour going as well as meet the needs presented by our administrative expenses (website, email service, telephone, etc.).
There are three ways you can help us do that. If you are not a member or have allowed your membership to lapse, please join or renew your membership. If you are already a member, please consider making an additional donation. Or, you can purchase raffle tickets for our current raffle: a 50th Anniversary Edition Ruger 10/22 with a collapsible tactical stock and three 10-round magazines. The raffle runs through the end of May and tickets are $5 each.
We thank you for your continued support of OK2A. Your support has enabled OK2A to become the primary voice for gun rights in Oklahoma. OK2A has been involved in the passage of 30 pro-gun measures in just four years and this year looks to be another successful year. You've answered the call when we've asked for phone calls and emails to legislators and the Governor. We know you will answer this call as well. You can also help by sharing this email with any pro-gun people on your list and by sharing it on Facebook and Twitter. Together, we can continue to make a difference - we can continue to successfully move pro-gun legislation through the process and make Oklahoma the most gun-friendly state in the Union.
