At the end of todays (1/18/2011) meeting, Councilman Bowman and White both expressed, in agreement with the police chief, the need to control "military style" weapons. Councilman Walters opposed these controls. Wake up OKC! There are liberals in control of your City government.

I hate that term, "military style". If they banned all the weapons the military used, they would have to ban bolt actions as well. Yet they say bolt action is fine because it's a "hunting" rifle. They (politicians) just like to use terms that cause and emotional response. Take "assault weapons" for example. The word assault make you think it's a superior style of weapon, and is more dangerous. It's simply a semi-automatic rifle! Sorry, I'll get off my rant before I end up writing a couple pages on it. lol

Every "military" rifle is a hunting rifle. What do soldiers do if not hunt down and kill the enemy? The only difference is, the military doesn't eat their prey.EDITED TO ADD: Oklahoma has preemption. Anything any city government passes along those lines would be moot.

:rollingla Could you imagine the headlines if that were the case?! "Military ceases buying MRE's for troops and starts eating enemies instead" :rollingla
