That's a concise way of leaving out the details.

An out of control foreigner that barely spoke English got aggressive with a heroic servant of the State. After assessing the situation and patiently explaining the protocol of a traffic violation to this wild, dangerous threat, the humble servant followed the law and carefully restrained him.

He did this to not only protect his life, but the life of others.

Word is he'll be receiving a citation of merit for his valiant deeds. May God bless him with the rewards he truly deserves.
I heard that the attack was so egregious against that valiant officer that even Biden took notice and is awarding him a Medal of Honor and issuing a full pardon (just in case of course) and then naming the next aircraft carrier after him.

I’m unsure of who is in support of the officer and who thinks it was police brutality. Can everyone please state their position on this again? Just so everyone is clear
The FOP has backed the officer.

So let's add more hate and discontent. Do we agree with the union (gasp) or are they a bunch of chickensqueezins as portrayed in other threads?

Jackbooted thug/Union on one side - anti-statist/pro liberty guys on the other....

This case is very similar to a case in Loveland Colorado. Two stalwarts of the Loveland PD. ventured across a woman acting "erratically" she wouldn't tell them her name, and when they tried to "apprehend" this dangerous 75 year old woman, they basically body slammed her just like the heroic OCPD officer did. Her crime? Not listening and when they grabbed her she pushed one of them. They ripped her rotator cuff, dislocated here shoulder and refused her any treatment while they forced her hand behind her back to cuff her. Then went for coffee with her in the back of the car...their final down fall was forgetting to turn off their body cameras. As she was waiting and screaming they were both joking and laughing about the loud pop the heard from her shoulder when being slammed to the ground, and saying bet she won't be so "stupid" next time from the lesson she just got!
Said woman had dementia and had wondered away from the nursing home she was in. City backed the officers 100% said their training was perfect and they acted properly. Once the body cam tapes were brought to light by the defence that kinda changed! Very similar!
Forgot to add concussion too from being smacked into the concrete sidewalk.

I'm often on the side of LE in these things. I recognize its a tough, thankless job etc. and give some leeway on the necessity of making decisions in a split second. But this is radically different than those situations. The 'law is the law' arguments are silly. The idea that reasonableness doesn't factor in is just inexplicable to me.
