2nd Amendment in Action: Armed Oklahoma Homeowner Ends Criminal’s Crime Spree
July 11, 2012
By Don Zaidle

A criminal in Tulsa, Oklahoma crashed a stolen tow truck into an occupied SUV and fled the scene as police were on their way. The thief then broke into a nearby home, only to be confronted by an armed homeowner.

The homeowner opened fire on the home invader, striking him in both legs and incapacitating him until police could arrive.

Police pieced together the two incidents and brought the criminal to a nearby hospital, where after release he will face charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, leaving the scene of an injury accident and first-degree burglary.

This wasn’t the home invader’s first brush with law enforcement. An investigation revealed that the criminal has several prior convictions, which include grand larceny, possessing a stolen vehicle and pointing a gun.

Only problem is he didn't shoot to kill and now we have to support the durd.

Center of Mass, people, center of mass. Hitting both legs though sounds like either good aim or lots of luck.

Wouldn't have had to aim with a shotgun, just point their their general direction and they'd become pink mist!

Oh come on people, Im sure he is a good person, he was probably abused, and just got into the wrong crowd.

I am sure the homeowner can be sued for medical expenses, in addition, can probalbly have a pretty hefty civil suit against him.

ripnbst said it best. Center of mass people, and dont forget double tap!

Having worked around the law enforcement field & attorneys for a long time... I highly suggest that you never use the 'Shoot to kill" statement in any of your discussions on-line. Heaven forbid, if you ever do have to use your weapon and kill someone.. and the county prosecutor or the deceased guy's family gets hold of those comments... your screwed!

Just look at what Zimmerman down in Florida is going through... can you imagine what he would be looking at if it ever came out he had made a similar statement. You shoot to 'stop' the threat...and the best way to do that according to police & armed security guard training is a quick triple tap... 2 to the chest & one to the head.

Two complete different scenarios. One man was on the street the other is in your house. If someone is in your house and is breathing they are a threat.

The two different scenerios doesn't matter one darn bit.. it is the precieved mindset that people believe about you.. and if you say [especially if you repeat it in many Internet forum chats] that you should 'shoot to kill' instead of 'shoot to stop' the threat... your likely gonna get procecuted for 1st or 2nd degree murder if the guy dies... even if it is inside your home!

The arguement would be made that you intended to kill the person, not to just defend yourself. That your past statements on the Internet showed your intent to kill someone if ever given the opportunity! The comment made above was to kill the guy so the tax payers wouldn't have to support him... not to defend themselves against serious injury or death... that would be considered murder....plain & simple.. no matter what the scenerio was.

1,000's of LEO agency's have armies of attorneys telling them to never say 'Shoot to kill' under any circumstances because of the liability issue.. and they have very deep pockets to defend themselves with in courts. Just how deep are your pockets? Are you really prepared to tell a jury that you were 'shooting to kill' someone who broke into your home?
