Always remember. Any "payment program" created by the providing company will NEVER lose them money. It's formulated in such a way that it will ALWAYS make the company a profit in the long run. And if it doesn't, the program will quietly disappear.

I don't join any of those programs. I figure it's going to cost me more over time than just paying a monthly bill.
This ^ I only pay the monthly billing. OG&E tries to do the same thing.

Years ago before I was a homeowner, I always rented and thought those "level pay" programs sounded great. I found out though that every time I moved I always owed a huge "lump sum" to settle the account. Never once was it in my favor and I moved pretty often way back then. It's like the drive through, I never get home and find an extra burger, if theres a mistake it's NEVER in my favor.
