The rhetoric about people flipping out over seeing someone carrying a pistol on their hip is just stupid nonsense, or like I saw one student commenting on Texas's proposed CCW-on-campus about the police not knowing who to shoot, just plain ignorant.Anyone of reasonable intelligence is going to know that a criminal isn't going to openly show their weapon anyway. Granted, few people did carry openly, but it was nice to be able to. We went shooting out in the desert most of the time and it was nice to just holster our weapon from house to the car, etc. As long as it was visible from 3 sides, it was good. I agree with a previous commenter about the deterrent factor.
