and this little tidbit is rather interesting....this game could be very interesting.

Report: Clemson's Shaq Lawson trash-talks Sooners on team bus'

and in the same vein, from another board.....

Clemson and Oklahoma almost got into a brawl during a luncheon yesterday after Shaq Lawson jumped on the OU bus after the luncheon was over.

Both teams arrived on their buses for the luncheon and Clemson and OU players started talking a little bit. It got more and more contentious as the luncheon ended.

It culminated with Shaq Lawson jumping on the OU bus and talking smack to the OU team.

I'm told players started trying to go after Lawson but Eric Striker and Ty Darlington were holding guys back so no one did anything dumb.

But I'm also told Devante Bond was throwing people around trying to get to Lawson. A few other Clemson players got on the bus and a lot of pushing and shoving started. I'm told no punches were thrown.

I've now talked to multiple sources and this stuff really did happen.

Also told after it was over, Bob got on the bus and Eric Striker explained what happened. Stoops started stomping his foot rhythmically and the entire team started chanting. Then they started shaking the bus. I'm told it was one of the coolest things these guys have ever seen Stoops do.

Several teams have cut players loose this Bowl season for bad behavior. I think that's great.

Braum's hot links are never ever allowed in my house again. Jus' sayin'... I had a bad experience, ok?

I went to the store a while ago after trying to decide what to make for game day. OU at 3PM, Thunder at 7PM.

Turns out I'm gonna make fresh homemade spinach artichoke dip, small bite-sized mini-pizzas (from scratch, not those premade crap ones) and some homemade meatballs in marinara covered with melted mozzarella and grated parmesan. And some nice hoagie cheese rolls to make meatball heroes on. :D

Alas... no BBQ or smoked meat today. I just didn't feel like it. <sigh> Sure am looking forward to becoming a veg on the couch though. :D Gotta go back to work tomorrow, but today is for me. :D

Only smoking a bologna and a bunch of boudan to go along with a shrimp boil, so don't feel alone on the not smoking much.

I'll not be watching the game, but I find it interesting how much news these thugs generate. Were football players such stellar citizens back in the 40s,50s, 60s, even 70s? I remember when NFL rules dictated that players that appeared in public must wear a jacket and tie, iirc?

Lol. Switzer had more than a few thugs at OU back in the day...guess that was the 80s pretty much though.
