Oregon: Anti-Gun Bills Pre-Filed, Legislature to Convene Monday
Friday, January 11, 2019

The 2019 Oregon Legislative Session will convene on Monday, January 14th, and anti-gun legislators have already pre-filed numerous bills to infringe upon your rights and more bills are expected in the coming weeks.

Some of the pre-filed bills include the following:

Senate Bill 501, sponsored by Senator Rob Wagner (D-19) and Representative Andrea Salinas (D-38), contains numerous, egregious infringements. It would create a permit that would be required to purchase or receive a firearm, with each permit requiring training and being valid for only 90 days, limit purchases to one handgun and one long gun per 30 day period, require firearms be stored in a locked container or with a trigger/cable lock, require reporting of lost or stolen firearms within 24 hours, prohibit the possession of ammunition magazines with a capacity greater than five, require background checks for purchasing ammunition, restrict ammunition purchases to no more than 20 rounds within a 30 day period, and require firearm transfers to be delayed up to 14 days for the Oregon State Police to conduct background checks.

House Bill 2551, filed at the request of Governor Kate Brown, would define many commonly owned semi-automatic firearms as “assault rifles,” prohibit young adults under the age of 21 from receiving such defined “assault rifles,” require firearm transfers be delayed for up to 30 days for the Oregon State Police to conduct background checks, and impose stiff criminal penalties for those who allow a minor to access a firearm.

Senate Bill 275, sponsored by Senator James Manning (D-7) and Representative Salinas, and House Bill 2505, sponsored by Representative Barbara Smith Warner (D-45), would include language from the failed Initiative Petition 44 of 2018. It would restrict the right to self-defense by imposing a one-size-fits-all requirement for the storage of firearms.

Senate Bill 87, filed at the request of the Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor and Industries, Brad Avakian, would prohibit young adults under the age of 21 from purchasing firearms and allow firearm dealers to discriminate against and refuse to sell firearms, ammunition, or firearm components to adults of any age.

It’s imperative that Second Amendment supporters stay involved during the 2019 legislative session. Your NRA will be at the Capitol on a daily basis throughout the session, so please stay tuned to www.nraila.org and your email inbox for further updates on these bills and other issues affecting your Second Amendment rights in Oregon.

More proof we need to make sure this disease doesn't cross our border. The country needs a wall, and we need our own internal wall.
Oregon goes full retard

  1. Only allowed to buy 20 rounds of ammo every 30 days
  2. "Large-capacity" magazines outlawed. Large-capacity = more than 5 rounds
  3. 14-day waiting period of firearm purchases.
  4. Need a permit & thumbprint to purchase a firearm. Allowed up to 1 handgun & 1 long gun purchase permit per month. Sheriff can deny permits. You must keep your permit for at least a year in case anyone checks.
  5. All private sales also require a purchase permit, and must go through an FFL. And weirdly, must be done in-person unless you live more than 40 miles apart from each other.
  6. All firearms must be kept securely locked up at all times if not being lawfully carried.
  7. If your firearm is stolen, you have 24hrs to report it or you risk fines and jail time.
  8. Background checks for ammo purchases. Even private sale... Apparently they're going to set up a phone line the public can use.
  9. Records must be kept of all ammunition transfers. Doesn't say how long.
"Sponsored by Senator Rob Wagner, D- Tualatin, Representative Andrea Salinas, D-Lake Oswego (at the request of Students for Change)"
Wagner said the students did all the research for the bill and he hasn't looked much into its constitutionality.

They don't even want to take responsibility for their own legislation, instead they pass the blame onto a group of Lake Oswego teens.

Wonder if/when manufacturers will follow Hornady and finally get behind us and just stop selling arms/gear/ammo/products to these state govs. Let them arm their LEO's with Taurus and FIE's and spam can ammo.

Or, you know, fulfill their current contracts within policies, 20 rnds per month lol

Did you read that ?
You must have completed a firearms safety course and if you have a criminal conviction you are out.

Now explain criminal conviction.
That is a pretty broad term and can include speeding at certain speeds, reckless driving and many other things.

They could basically strip the rights of a whole lot of people.
How far do they want to reach is what it boils down to.
