In the big city today with Dad's doctor appointment.
Getting back to work today. We picked up the work van in the Tulsa area and headed back towards Alabama. Spending the night here in West Memphis, AR and then drive on into AL tomorrow.
20 minutes after we arrived at our hotel, there was an accident just out in front of the hotel that was caused by a police chase of some dude. He wrecked into a pickup turning off of the access road and ended up in the ditch. Dude bailed out and went running. Driver of the pickup was somewhat injured as he was taken somewhere by ambulance, although he had been walking around a bit earlier.
There were at least 9 police cars in the immediate area (maybe as many as13), including one with a K9. Got word about 30 minutes later that they found the dude in a neighborhood nearby.
Now, we just hope the driver of the pickup wasn't injured too badly. His pickup was, though. The passenger front wheel was broken clear off.
The good news is that the company wants us to finish doing the "redos" for Alabama and then trade vans and do the "redos" for the state of Georgia. Then, there is some talk of us doing a bit more in Alabama after finishing the Georgia work. (We might be working almost to Thanksgiving. Actually, probably not.)
