Good morning, Everyone.

Wife and I are fixing to head to Elk City. We have friends that are RV dealers out there and one of the owners offered us good, used tires (2 to 3 years old) to replace the 12 year old ones on our fifth wheel. While the tires don't seem to be cracked (or worn out), they are old enough to worry about towing the RV anywhere. The good thing is that we can get these tires for free. So, why not drive out and see friends again?

Heya, guys!! Hope everyone is doing well. I had a nerve conduction study done on my cervical spine a couple weeks ago. It is amazing to me how taking the edge off even a little bit of pain can make it all overall so much more bearable. I go back at the end of this month to discuss ablation on some of those nerves (I'll be honest -- that kinda scares me. I had an ablation go wrong several years ago and it was NOT pleasant AT ALL.) And then moving down to deal with the damage to my thoracic spine.

Other than that, me and Grumpy have just been living the good life. Garden is growing like wildfire. I have more blackberries than I know what to do with. When the figs get ripe I'll have a bumper crop. Slowly turning the front yard into a fruit and vegetable garden. It's gonna be pretty rad when it's done if I do say so myself.

Neighbors have a new puppy. It is the cutest damn thing I've ever seen. And NO we are NOT getting a puppy. Lol Dawg would NEVER forgive us!

No storms to contend with, I hope. Wind was a blowing, last night.

Tires expire after 6 years. Manufacture date is molded into sidewall.

Yeppers...

...but, we always heard that they aged out in 7 years. A couple of years ago, we had both of the RV's axles replaced and while they were being done, the wife and I examined all four of those tires. No sign of crack anywhere, either in the tread or on the sidewalls. That said, there was no way we were going to be towing the trailer anywhere with tires that old.

Just as an FYI for anyone that might be interested, most of the tires our friends have are Goodyear G114, H-rated tires with the size of 215/75R/17.5" I didn't look at all of the tires but I suspect that their age will be 2 to 4 years old. RV owners have been removing them to put on Continentals, if I remember right.

However, the point is, if anyone can use some of those tires, they are free to others besides ourselves. If anyone is interested, let me know and I'll give more information on our friends and where they are in Elk City.

Oh, and for the date code, look for the DOT information (probably on the back side of the tire), which will be a series of numbers and letters. The last four numbers are the date code with the first two numbers being the week of the year that they were manufactured and the last two being the year they were manufactured. The ones I chose were built late in the year of 2020.

EDIT: I know Okiejoe owns an RV park, so if any of his customers are interested, they may want to look into these tires as well.

Continental is the only tire made in China

The tires on my pickup up were made 1914
19th week 2014.

Tread good, sidewalls looked good.
Dr apt Wed. Started home and sidewall blew out. Golf ball size hole in sidewall.

Changing out tires in the morning.

I guess what they say about losing your memory as you get older is correct. Just got down from the roof from repairing a vibrating electric roof vent. Holy Mother!!! That roof was a lot steeper, hotter, and rougher than I remembered from the last time I was up there!

Just got a pot of pasta gravy (sauce) simmering for the evening meal.

Next up ---- the lawn!!
