I double checked our RV today after hearing about the folks dying. We have both propane and two carbon monoxide detectors plus fire alarms.
I thought all RV’s in recent years were required to have them factory installed?
Of course it’s up to the owners to test and maintain them
All newer RVs have carbon monoxide detectors, but I don’t think that they are required to have leak detectors. The majority of propane leaks that I’ve seen happen when someone caps a propane line after removing a factory installed fixture such as the refrigerator or heater. I’ve also seen it when a propane company will bring out a large tank to use so the owner doesn’t have to constantly fill the on-board tanks.

I am thinking that the later is what happened here since they decided to live there permanently last year.

Just got back from the ranch....all the ponds were full and most of the leaves have fallen from the trees. Started up all the equipment and checked antifreeze....also have heaters on in the well house, travel trailers and the mobile suite....the weather in Hughes county was nice as the sun was out and the wind was calm. My brother purchased several nice pieces of furniture for the porch and we sat there after filling feeders, changing the cards in numerous game cameras and doing our work list.....I love it down there even when the weather is chilly.....spring can't come too soon for my old bones....

Family Christmas number two is done...WHEW! One more with my Mother, brother, and his family, and we’ll be done for another year.

My brother told me yesterday that my nephew’s show steer that I’m buying weighed 1072# on December 2nd. The show isn’t until April, so we’re expecting him to be close to 1400# when he finishes out. I’m splitting him with my two sons and probably my wife’s family, but I’m already starting to plan ahead for additional freezer space. We’ve still got a lot left from this year’s steer.

I’ve posted this in the prepper section before but will repeat it here. If anyone ever wants to buy farm raised beef, I strongly suggest contacting your local high school ag teacher and see if any of the kids raising steers don’t want theirs after the show. I guarantee it will be the best beef you’ve ever had. My niece started showing steers 4 or 5 years ago, and my brother and I started getting them processed and splitting the meat. We’re both spoiled now. We generally end up with 250-275# each at a cost of about $6/pound (this year). It was cheaper when we first started, but like everything else, the prices of feed, steers, and processing cost have gone up. In my opinion, it’s still a bargain for what you get.

Good morning folks.

One of our students that came to the Christmas party and brought a bag koozies and handed them out to everyone. One side had the name of the welding company he owns, the other side a flag of the United States and a little surprise on the bottom for when you tip your can to have a drink. They were a hit at the Christmas party.

That reminds me ... there's apparently a new edition of the Blazer that I hadn't heard about.

Here, but occasionally There.
It was a good day today. Wife and I went and picked up our RV home and took it to the RV park and got it set and leveled and the slides out. Tomorrow, we go back out there and hook up all utilities and start cleaning.

On our way home, the wife got a text or something that said that our preacher and his wife dropped off a small package of "Happy Early Anniversary" cookies at our son's house.

Looking forward to getting back into our home, even if they are forecasting cold weather on Thursday.
