Durango, Colorado in 2009 saw us taking the Durango to Silverton train both up and back. While one can arrange booking on the train for just a one way trip and bus for the other way, I chose to stay with the train so that I could get the images with morning and afternoon sun positions.

This one was taken as we were first arriving at the depot that morning. This is also one of the few that I have taken that I have "manipulated" within imaging software. The original picture was way too dark, largely because of the lens I was using.

Good afternoon,
We came back early to the city today. Friends of ours are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary tonight and is throwing a huge party at the Petroleum Club down town. They had 125 people RSVP. Live music, upscale food, free alcohol, it should be a great evening. Only downside is we have to dress up. Ugh!!!

This is always a great occasion to get a new pair of blue jeans!! The only time I now wear 'fancy pants' is for Marry'n and Bury'n.

When we cruised to Alaska in 2005, before leaving, we stayed at a hotel in Fairbanks, and this "feature" was near that hotel. The first picture shows a guy teeing off a golf ball, and his "target" is on the other bank of the river. The target is in the second photo. Needless to say, I bet there are a lot of golf balls at the bottom of the river. Some probably in the trees as well.
