Started today by driving almost to Miami, TX just to be told upon arrival that today's project was postponed. Then on to Allison, TX to make a few stops, and then on to Elk City, OK for another couple of stops. Drive to town, wash the work truck, and get home around 4...just to find a busted frost free faucet at my parents house. Dig it up, can't get the broken nipple out of the water line, then end up finding mulitple holes in water pipe upstream of faucet tee. So now I get to take off tomorrow and play plumber...

At least its fresh water and mud. Not black water and "mud".

Have I had less fun days? Yes
Did today suck? Also yes
But its (mostly) done now, and the folks have water back on. We ended up digging up all the way to meter, and also into cellar on the other end, around 30-35' total. Still have to install new faucet, but we tee'd off for it and installed a block valve so we can do it later this week.

Also, in the course of our excavating, we found the gas line, that we think goes to the shop, is PVC! Nothing like digging under a plastic gas line to remove a steel water line
