OP, I suffered from Panic Attacks right out of college. Put too much pressure on myself and my first PA I was convinced I was dying. Freakiest thing I've had happen to me and that was what spun me into having PA's, thinking something was physically wrong with me. Docs wanted to put me on Zoloft which I did for a few weeks and I felt horrible so I got off it (they didn't like that and getting off Zoloft was intense...even after being on it for such a short time) and ended up doing a lot of research. In all my readings the best advice that allowed me to eventually beat it was to let go and not try to stop it when it happens. Just realize this is the way your body is reacting at this stage in your life and there's nothing you can do to stop it...so stop thinking you can stop them. A lot of panic attacks progress by the sufferer trying to stop them and being unable to which ends up making them continue and get worse. Accept and you will eventually learn to control. Your mind is crazy powerful and can and will manifest stress as a physical ailment. When you feel it coming on....you must let it and remind yourself your body is communicating with you (albeit in a not so fun way). Also exercise and surround yourself with positive things (don't listen to political radio or the news). It's not going to happen overnight. If they're bad, it may take a while, but you will get past this.
