Paul Ryan Blinks: Will Allow Vote on Gun Control Next Week
by AWR HAWKINS 30 Jun 2016

..."For his part, Ryan continues to stress that House gun control has to contain “a provision [protecting] due process for people who may mistakenly be added to [no fly or terror watch] lists.”"... WELL WHOOPEE Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.)----Omar Mateen, San Bernardino attackers Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik were NOT ON THE LIST.

This is a slippery slope. Thinking out loud:

If the government was required to give an individual 30 days notice BEFORE being placed on any list AND the individual was allowed due process BEFORE being placed on any list, then I might be open for a discussion along these lines.

On the other hand, this list would have done nothing to prevent many, if not most, of the mass shootings in the US. Therefore, why take this action? I could easily see this approach evolving to a "mental health" list which is very dangerous to individual rights.

The Known Terrorist List is really what they should be using and even then only if Constitutionally appropriate notification/appeal processes are in place.
BTW - the silly headline sounds like it could have been written by a Trump fanboy...oh wait it was.

The House works by rules and all members are elected by some citizens so no one, including the Speaker should be using the rules to ensure that an issue cannot even be addressed. That's school house bully BS not worthy of the House or a Speaker.

I do like Known Terrorist List with due process better than the No Fly List. However, the definition of "terrorist" comes into play and the political entity using the term terrorist. Would our Founding Fathers have been considered "Terrorists"?

‘Assault Weapons’ Ban, Firearms Licensing Did Not Stop Terrorist with AK-47 in Istanbul Airport
by AWR Hawkins1 Jul 2016

"In American leftist lingo, an AK-47, a type of semiautomatic rifle, is an “assault weapon.” AK-47s are completely banned from private possession. That, however, did not keep a terrorist from getting one. And that alone highlights the foolishness of House Speaker Paul Ryan’s (R-Wisc.) pursuit of more gun control following the June 12 Orlando terror attack."

What is the criteria for identifying one as a "known terrorist"?

Just like it depends on what your definition of "is" is, it also depends on what your "definition of terrorist" is. Remember how quickly Napolitano and the lib dem MSM tried to cover up their true intentions in their lib dem "definition of terrorist" when the American public became aware of what their "definition of terrorist" was and voiced their outrage against it? The lib dem's "definition of terrorist" is "ANY DEFINITION" that advances their agendas, power, control, etc.
