500-800 yards for coyote size targets...I would work up a load for Hornady's 178 grain ELD-X bullet.
You want a match quality bullet with terminal performance for those ranges. You can buy these pre-rolled if you desire.
his barrel is a 1-12 twist rate. I'm not sure a 178 gr bullet is the best choice.

11 twist would definitely be better but several people are having success with a 12 twist. I believe GA Precision builds the majority of their 308's with an 11.5 twist. There's only one way for the op to find out though.

The Federal 168gr Gold Medal Match is my primary "go to" for the 308. But the Hornady Match 168gr I find fragments on deer better than the Federal. I have taken several with both but prefer the Hornady for deer.
