This is for you legal minds
Can a person pick up a pistol bought online and have it sent to an ffl in a neighboring state? Asking for a friend. :)
two parts. Can you pick up a pistol bought online? Yes. If it is from a dealer in your state. No if the dealer is in another state. The dealer will transfer it to your dealer when they have a copy of their FFL.

Can you have it sent to an ffl in a neighboring state? Well, yes if you picked it up in your state, but why? That would indicate another sale to someone else. If the pistol was purchased in a state differing from your home state, it must be sent to the ffl in your home state to lay hands on it.

The firearms laws are draconian. Anyone that is not prohibited from owning a firearm should be able to buy a firearm from any FFL regardless of their state of residency.
You can buy in Texas and save the sales tax, then have it transferred to Oklahoma ffl. It is a wash on savings kind of. If you are looking for a Colt, I always see them in Texas before any one in Oklahoma gets them, has been my experience.
It is a bit of a hassle, not to bad though, if you have a local ffl you can deal with.
