PSA AR/AK Build Help Needed

So I bought this hybrid upper from PSA awhile ago.

I built on an AR15 Lower. I used 10 rd C-Products Defense Magazines for the 7.62x39 round for an AR15 as this is what I thought was recommended to me.

Went to shoot this, I could chamber, and feed 1 round from the mag. After that, no more. This happened every time I tested it. This upper has less than 10 rds through it.

What did I do wrong on my build?

Not sure how many you have or how many you’ve tried, but sounds like it could be a magazine issue. Maybe a feed ramp issue?

contact PSA, their customer service is really good. they can probably sort out issue over the phone.

ARs that use regular AR receivers for 7.62x39 are finicky creatures at best. If you can afford it I’d recommend getting one of PSAs KS47 lowers to complete your hybrid AR/7.62x39 platform. It will use AK mags and solve a lot of problems that incur using an AR lower with 7.62x39 in funny shaped AR mags.

So I do need a different receiver?

I really had no idea what I was doing and thought it was supposed to work with an AR15 lower

I'd start with a different mag for sure.

I built one on an AR lower and zero issues. I run C-products mags without issue, but that is the most likely cause. What ammo are you using? Might try a heavier buffer as well if you have a standard AR15 carbine buffer installed.

I have 3 different mags.

So it is supposed to work on a regular ar15 lower?
