Good advice to leave the spring system in a carry gun (duty or self defense) factory. This especially applies to the compact or smaller sized Glocks (19, 23, 30 etc) I have found aftermarket combinations in them that are unreliable.

I have a Gen-1 17 that I bought used in 1988. It went through the six part upgrade in 1989 IIRC. Still has the same parts in it and still running.
