The home I had in Oklahoma that I remodeled; I used a crow's foot texture on the ceiling. It works best if you have two people doing it, but one person can do it. It just a lot of work. Thin out the mud so you can use a 1" nap roller and dunk it in the mud. Roll it out and leave a decent layer of mud so that you can cover an 8'x8' area then use a twin head flat oval brush. Start your stamping. This is if you're working by yourself. If you have two people you can cover more ceiling easily.
