I am a member at USSA and Red Castle. Red Castle: It's a great range with just about everything a shooter could as for. The 600 yard and silhouette range are the only real positives for me at Red Castle. I shoot little if any skeet or trap anymore and primarily focus on competitive pistol shooting. The 22 silhouette range is a lot of fun for younger shooters. The pistol facilities are a bit lacking in my opinion. One thing I don't like about Red Castle is the careless members out there who come and tear everything up and then leave. That is not to say there aren't great people out there, but there are definitely a few bad apples. Being a member also gives you access to their indoor pistol range in Tulsa for a small fee. USSA: Primarily geared around practical rifle and pistol. If you want to shoot competition and really hone your skills in this area, USSA is tough to beat with its setup. A big plus for me is that it is 10 minutes from my house. They have a 300 yard rifle range and a 360 degree rifle range that is also a lot of fun. However, the price is quite higher at $33 a month for the 3 year contract (at least that is what I am paying, not sure now). They have a controlled range with staff available at all times should the need arise. Bottom line is if you are a casual shooter that just likes to have fun and shoot, I would select Red Castle based solely on cost. If you are a more 'serious' shooter focused on the practical disciplines, USSA is flat out awesome.
