Hi ya’ll!
This is the first year I’m going to build some raised gardens, probably two of them. My son just shared some plans with me. I want to put out some tomatoes and peppers, what ever else the wife wants. They are going to be 39”x24”, I might make four of them. Anyways, I can put them where they get morning sun or where they get direct sun all day. I’ve never had a veggie garden so I’m not sure about where I need to put them.

If you use bagged garden soil, make sure you dose it with lime. You'll get blossom end rot if you don't. I'm batting .1000 on that. It has to do with calcium uptake and it's basically impossible to get good fruit once it starts. I've salvaged (maybe) a few tomatoes on a killer looking plant that had it by dissolving garden lime in vinegar and watering that in, but it takes time for the lime to break down to where the plants can use it.

Just be prepared to water quite a bit more than if it was directly in the ground.

Why we use tubs for most of our garden. But quite a bit is still ground gardened for us. We tried wood and concrete block raised beds, while they work they still hard to beat down in the ground.
