This is a lot how I look at this situation. Yes the rancher has been grazing cattle in violation of law for decades, so have a judge order the LOCAL sheriff to impound the animals and make the rancher pay the cost of round-up/impoundment to get them back. I have to pay to graze my stock so this rancher should also. HOWEVER, the OVERWHELMING show of force tactic that BLM and Feds have chosen to employ is totally inappropriate. Yeah BLM lands are Federal land, but adding all these Feds from OUTSIDE only escalated this situation. Whoever from Federal Gov't or BLM who ordered this needs to be fired! Federal Govt flexing its muscle in order to 'show' what they can do (snipers, are you kidding?), is ridiculous. We all know the script that comes next, the Rancher is a CRAZY Tea Party/veteran/Conservative/NRA member and they had to use night vision, snipers, UAV's, Deadly Force etc to insure the safety of the cattle wranglers. By the by, I heard this morning a news blurp that they had taken rancher into custody, I don't actually have a problem with that IF it was some sort of Nevada Law Enforcement and IF it was for grazing his cattle on public lands in violation of a court order. The OVERWHELMING show of force is a warning to ALL citizens who have a beef with the feds, nothing more.
