I have an old Simmons rangefinder. They are big like binoculars. They have definitely gotten better since my purchase.

I have a Nikon Prostaff 550. It is the only one I have every owned, but it works good and is clear and light/packable. Was fair priced as well. I am saving up for a larger one though.

Both the wife and I have the Wildgame Innovations Halo XRT 500 - it's okay. not great. I wouldn't buy it again as it struggles with even the slightest obstruction (like a blade of grass) and the glass isn't that great. HATE the stupid CR2 lithium batteries, which weren't included.

I tend to carry the 550 when hunting, most of my deer killing is @ 300yds and under.

I picked up a Nikon Aculon on sale recently. I think it'll do everything I want. I don't shoot very far anymore. But it seems to work good.

Nikon crapped out, got Bushnell - works good; but not as good as Leica 1600B I sport now
