Recommend a scope for Ruger MKII?

I tried a red dot and didn't really care for it. Can anyone recommend a decent scope for right around $100? I'd prefer a variable.

What didn't you like about the red dot? I personally couldn't see a variable scope on a pistol, but that's just me.

I guess I should give the red dot some more time. Only had it to the range once. I ran out of adjustment before I got it sighted in completely. Prolly need to play with the mount a bit. Just in shooting it though I realized that I'd like to have a pistol scope as well.

^which red dot were you running? I know from personal experience that the Trijicon RMR is a nice pistol red dot.

I have a variable scope on my pistol it is a tasco works great

I have an ultradot on my mkIII and works well for me.
