as far as military goes i assume you have already read to hell and back. I assume you already read it but I always enjoyed hatchet and i am by no means the reading type

Not really military but One Second After is about a military nuclear EMP strike on the US and the effect it has on society.

Also, Patriots is about how a group of people survive after the collapse of the economy. Again not military but it has a military type of survival/tactical feel to it.

Both books are definitely worth reading.

One more good read that is definitely military is Carlos Hatcock: Marine Sniper.

The best book of all times is "Gods and Generals" it's a must read!
