Build one at 42” table top height. Barstool and standing. Gives room for shelves underneath. My first was steel solid core door. Door was NOT solid. Replaced top with scrap 2 bys. I put a thin plywood topper on the boards. Very sturdy. Using metal bars now for presses. Clamp the bars to table top and can now use the table for a project and cleaning bench.
Years ago I picked up a set of steel bench legs at Grainger and a blank solid core door at Lowes. Like was mentioned earlier, you don’t need too much depth and a 28 or 30 inch door is plenty. You can scan fakeberg marketplace and probably get what you need cheap.
