I decided we need another participation thread. Everyone enjoys them, right? Of course, you do!

Since many of us are officially "Old Fogies," it might be fun to reminisce about the things we from our childhoods that may be "out-of-style" today. And, of course, you young Whippersnappers can join in too.

Okay, I'll start us off.

Do you remember going to Sonic and getting a Frito chili pie where they cut open the side of a single-serving pack and added the chili, cheese, and onions directly into the pack?

Running around during the summers with shorts only, sometimes with shoes and sometimes without, baking in the sun for hours a day not knowing that most of us would later have to deal with the skin cancer it caused..........and cap guns with paper rolled caps lol.

I went to high school in the mid-60’s, and probably a third of the trucks on the parking lot had either firearms or bows hanging in the back window. And I don’t remember any being stolen.

We all had shotguns in our trucks. My best friends Mother was a English teacher. We all had her first hour so we could go duck hunting at Wister and come in late. 50's.

Riding in the back of a pickup bed.

Balsa wood airplanes?

Lawn Darts?

Atari?

Snow cones from Aunt Stelle’s.

Riding the bike to the city pool and swimming all afternoon.

Riding bikes.

A pocket knife was ok at school.

I didn't realize the first Sonic opened in 1953 right in Shawnee, OK.

There are so many things I miss from my childhood that I can't possibly make a list.
