Remington 1100 28g charging handle won’t stay in

I bought a replacement handle and ball detent after losing the first one. One shot and the new one came out too. Luckily it landed by my feet in the dirt and not in the deep grass like last time.
When I install it, it feels solid but it’s not holding when shot. The gun doesn’t look like it’s been shot to much so I kinda rule out a worn bolt but I could be wrong.

Probably didn't have a 28ga handle in stock and substituted a 410

It might be an inertia issue. Maybe a weak detent spring? Or a worn detent pocket?
