I have a Remington model 11 in 12 ga that I have been on the lookout for a replacement barrel with little luck. It looks as if I'm going to have to change direction and try to have the original barrel repaired. The problem is that at some time in it's life, someone cut the vent rib off the barrel ( support ribs to it were integral to the barrel), then at some point, another rib was soldered on. Apparently, the rib would not allow the barrel to recoil properly and it was removed. I would like to find a good gunsmith in the area along the I44 corridor (Chandler to Tulsa) capable of restoring this to close to original condition . Or at least finding out if it's financially practical.
