Having spent 2 tours of duty in Washington, DC, the last being 5 years at the Pentagon having to deal with our distinguished elected representatives, I appreciate the dedicated idealism of the naive, some of whom are here in OK. What I find sad is the bashing by the naive of the organization that has to deal daily with the reality of pursuing the ideal goals while dealing the the art of the possible in Washington, DC. The fact is that the NRA is the most highly effective 2A lobby for Congress, and one of the most effective of all types of lobbies, by independent rating. One of the stated goals of the gun grabbers is to divide gun owners and publish false and misleading misinformation, and I find in reading this thread that some people are quoting them--naive and really sad. 80 million gun owners, and 4 million pulling the wagon while the rest ride for free and complain about the bumpy ride. And that's the way I see it from being up close and personal with the process. Want to put fear into the gun grabbers? Try a 20 million member NRA. Thanks for reading this, and even more thanks if you think seriously about it.
