Resurrecting of an old BMW Airhead

We got a few things done in the past couple of days. Picked up the fork from the powder coaters and got it mounted along with the handlebar mounts. The '70-'73 airheads used a smaller headlight than the '74-on bikes, other than the R65 model. I found an R65 headlight reflector, lens, and trim ring from a eBay seller in Germany. This allows the bike to run a halogen headlight. Still aways to go but we'll get it back on the road. It's probably been 30 years since this one ran on its own power.

I'm impressed. Your bench is as cluttered as mine when I do a project and that's not easy!
I worked with an older guy that rebuilt old Indians. Originals! His garage probably had a couple hundred THOUSAND dollars worth of cool stuff in it.

I used to not have any interest in this stuff at all, crotch rockets and moto-x bikes were all I cared about. Now I love them all and don't dare buy a crotch rocket even though I want another.

Looks wonderful. Serious question though. Is that "happiness" on the tank in pic #2? I mean, I would be happy to have the bike looking so good....

Steve will probably jump in and explain a few thing but this is a /2 conversion. It is a pre70 frame with a post 70 motor. The old motors just had a slinger for the oiling system and the electrics were pretty primitive. The conversion brings modern technology to a classic looks.
Looks like it's going good!
