My one problem with doing a ride-along is that I feel like I'd run into too many past acquaintances on the trip.
Related story: years ago, I was doing an OSINT project for TPD and I wasn't too far removed from my mis-spent youth at that point. The office I was in had current street prices for drugs up on the wall, and I muttered to myself, "jeezus you guys are getting ripped off." Later on they were listening to a drug bust on the radio and I realized I knew the guy they were raiding :/
It's weird switching from one side of the law to the other. I'm sort of like the guy from White Collar except I'm better with Metasploit.
