Sad loss. Seatbelt might have saved him. I know several people who still refuse to wear them. Some of these people also think you can consistently win at casinos.

Those old Land Crushers are great vehicles.

Not to make light of a tragic situation but someone needs to outlaw those old toyotas. With today's vehicles and all the mandated safety equipment, this may have been prevented if citizens were not allowed access to those outdated dangerous vehicles. Afterall, who really needs a vehicle like that? Not to mention if this had occured near a school, etc. Think of the children that may have been put in danger.

Yup we need to regulate more on cars. Please outlaw some more things rather than take personal responsibility. We need internal locks on guns too, think of the children.

I still don't generally wear mine in city limits(35-45mph), but always do when I travel on the highways.

The most common crash speed is 35 mph. A head-on crash at 35 mph will result in death without a seatbelt. You are looking at forces well over 100 Gs. Always wear your safety belt. If you don't have a family, I guess it doesn't matter much, but if you have a wife and children, put your damn seatbelt on.
