It's a gorgeous day, get out and enjoy it!

Destination: Frederick, Oklahoma
Event: VFD Annual Oyster Fry
Time: 3pm - 6pm


They left Thursday morning, drove to Galveston and bought a load, fresh oysters straight from the boat. Drove back yesterday and frying today.

We make the trip, almost every year, to get my fix of fresh oysters. The freshest you can get in Oklahoma.

Fresh on the half shell with horseradish and Tabasco! I can eat 50, or more, of them.

Yeah, they would hafta be. I made it through two of em on the halfshell. I couldn't hang after that, no matter how much beer there was to wash em down with.

After some beers I'll do raw but not fried or cooked.

Nothing beats fresh off the beach, it's like a whole different experience even from the half shell

When I was a kid we went to a Chinese buffet and I though the fried oysters were chicken nuggets, I can still recall the absolute horror of that bite.
