I’m all for it. I wish the Springfield Echelon would have been designed to take Glock mags. Why reinvent the wheel, just improve it.
Springfield Echelon sure is getting a lot of attention, it seems that ad money can buy good reviews. For me, the Springfield Echelon is a poor copy of the Sig P-320. Maybe priced a bit cheaper but certainly not more quality or better performance.

Got to hold one yesterday. It has PSA written all over it, IMO.

Not sure it brings much to the market that is flooded with Glock Gen 3 copies. Now if they had partnered up with a Micro Dagger (Glock 48) then I might be thinking.
Certainly there are already many "Glock Gen 3 Clones" like the Dagger at good prices. Suspect that many are reliable and a good bargain. However, the Ruger RXM seems to be much more in that it is "modular", slide has several standard optic mount options and the Magpul frame offers a standard long term set of options. Magpul unlike the clones is going to be around for the long term and will offer support for the long term.

I picked mine up yesterday. I think it feels great and everything looks very well made. The trigger is amazing compared to any other Glock clone out there. It feels like a solid gun and I’m excited to shoot it and see how it performs.
Have not had an opportunity to shoot one, the local ranges sell them before they get to be rentals. It seems there is already a backlog for them. Have hear nothing negative about them.

So I have the p320, echelon, beretta apx a1and now the ruger which are all chassis systems. I think the echelon is light years ahead of the p320. The echelon is my favorite striker fired to shoot. It is now my bug out sidearm. I’ll put the ruger and the echelon up against each other at the next range trip and see which one I like the best. So far, just by feel, it’s still the echelon. I have smaller hands and with the small grip frame on it just feels perfect.
