I take it you had no issues with it. I'm trying to decide between one of these and a S&W 15-22. Both seem to be pretty reliable.

No issues. I bought the S&W 15-22 first. It was a fun gun, but I have always liked the Rugers and had a ton of mags. I would love to get another.

2 responses from 2 guys who've had both. One slightly prefers the Ruger and one slightly prefers the Smith. I'm right back where I started. lol

J/K, I appreciate the responses. I think the real answer is that I won't be disappointed with either. The variety of mags available for the Ruger might be the clincher.

lol... Understandable. I guess it'd be more fair to disclose I have one SW1522, and seven 10-22's. I love Rugers, but wanted a true AR platform. Started years ago with a Nordic kit for the Rugers, bought the colt 1522 (hated it) ended up with a SW1522. Love it as a specific platform, but it'll never replace my love of Rugers.

I liked the ruger, the functionality, the availability of mags etc...you can dress em up, as your pic shows.

The s&w 15-22 is already prepackaged as an AR platform, add optics and you're set. The mags aren't an issue to find...you'd be happy with either I think.

After all that mumbo jumbo...I prefer the s&w 15-22.

I wound up with the S&W, primarily because that's what became available first. So far, so good. I'm gonna try to make my optics work with it before I go shooting, mainly because I can't go shooting this weekend.
