When I bought my AR556, I remember the SR556's were double. I think I paid 6ish for mine new from C.O.P.S.
I paid $900 for mine a few years back on a CDNN blowout but it was the NY model so I had to replace the stock assembly and thread the barrel. The standard SR's MSRP was like $2k but they retailed for around $1400 if I remember right. Bare bones Adam's Arms Piston rigs are going for $1000 and it's twice the gun.
With the proprietary pinned troy rail, sights AND eotech, $1700 should be pretty reasonable asking price for the package, maybe a little more if that's the XPS3. For the record, I have a few thousands rounds through mine and no hiccups or carrier tilt. Mine shoots a little under 1.5moa with range ammo.
