own one and shot another. both very accurate. the slide is a little hard to get ahold of.

great gun to shoot. stock sights are pretty standard and not that easy to see.

Thanks for the replies, saw the 40% S&W thread and think I may get one. Have a P22 with the 5in barrel and I'm tired of having to pull the fake barrel weight off to disassemble the pistol.

Took Shelia(my 22a-1) out to the range today and put 250 rds thru it. They were bulk Remington gold tips. I only had one failure to extract and maybe 6 rds of ftf. I checked and all the rds had a good firing pin strike on them. I blame the ammo, but for the most part they fired very well. I really liked the way the pistol shot and it is truly accurate. I shot it out to 25 yards and had grouping under 2" which is very good for me. I am convinced that the 22a shots better than me. I am very pleased with my purchase.

I just got the range report from my son. He and both his sons are sold on the S&W 22A. Believe me, that pistol will get lots of rounds.

I've got the long slab sided barrel version of the 22A that I scored in a trade for an SKS I had. I'm very happy with the trade, and happier with the pistol. The only FTF I've had was from federal bulk and it was just a bad bullet. It holds a close second place to my ruger Mk I.

Butch.
