View attachment 368949View attachment 368949Be very careful when buy “cokes” from the internet. Especially flea bay or gunbroker even. Cokes (center) have a definite more rounded contour on the bottom versus the targets on right or left. Lotsa fakes and ones coming from Thailand. Definitely not the real thing!

Good description of how to tell them apart - do we know how they got the name coke grips and what about the diamond ones mentioned - please educate there too.

I'll take a stab, In those profile pics of jmiller's the coke grips have the profile of a coke bottle, and the diamond grips are the one's from 50'sand 60's that have a diamond around the grip screw, which can be found on J, K, and N frame grips, on the Magnas and I think the target grips, but not sure on that.

Coke grips come from the coke bottle hourglass shape of the grips as viewed from the rear, and you can slightly see it from the side view. Diamond magnas are the grips that fit the exact profile of the grip frame and there is a diamond shape area around the grip screw that is not checkered. Found in older guns. And then there are target grips, smooth targets, combats, round butt, square butt, presentation and the list goes on…
