Let me put it this way...... How man Dems or middle of the road voters are so pissed off at Obama or anyone else in the field, that they'd vote for any one of the GOP candidates? Hardly any.

Of the 982398 morons the GOP has running for office, not one of them seems to know how to get in touch with the working class or anyone below 50 years of age. This is the same GOP that lost to Obama.... twice.

EDIT: Ask and ye shall receive.

Personally after giving the store away to Iran this week,

I think DOHbama wanted to give the GOP something, like the next election. :pms2::pms2::pms2:

And it was the same Dems that lost to Bush.... twice. Look up the cycle yourself if you do not believe me. Just google US presidents and look at which party they belong to. Since WW2 it has been an 8 year cycle with only rare exceptions. What you or I or anyone else believes is the right political direction for the country does not mean squat.

There are even cycles showing in congress. Remember the last election all the libs were so sure they were going to retake the house and hold the senate? Pelosi was even talking of being Speaker again. As I said at the time, the cycle pointed to a GOP win and it happened.

Ummm I remember a LOT of arrogance from the GOP during the last presidential election. Even caught a glimpse of that on this board if I remember correctly. How'd that work out?

Just out of curiosity, what crystal ball are you looking at that you can say that "hardly any" Democrats and moderates would vote for a Republican? I'm a few years older that you, and I know of a number of voters that would do just that. As an example, Oklahoma's Democratic Party voter rolls were shrinking the last I heard, and I wonder if that same trend is going on in other states, even blue ones. (Note that I didn't accuse you of smoking anything.)

Well, I'm a few years younger than you and "we" and those younger than me, are the ones that seemingly showed up in droves and swayed the elections. Like I said, they'd better figure out a way to connect.

About like it is going to turn out for you in 2016. And the youth vote is unhappy with DOHbama and the desire to get out and vote seems to have taken a beating. Meanwhile the senior voters, those that turn out almost every election just got handed another reason to vote GOP.

Looks like the GOP managed to piss off nearly everyone except the older white males? Which is impressive considering Obama's first administration.

Either way, as far as your predictions go...

Stats were cited last election too....

He's another prediction.... in a Trump for Pres thread....in 2011.

But Obama still won during a stagnant economy and horrible gas prices.

What's that they say about the definition of madness again?

Actually if you look the economy had not gotten any worse and according to all reports that the government was feeding the low information voters was improving a little, which pretty much matches what I said.

"Don't need Rasmussen for this one. If the economy really picks up and Obama does not screw up any worse then he already has, he will be re-elected.

If the economy is still bad or takes another dip, it does not matter who the Republicans run, Obama will lose.

The incumbent always wins unless the economy is really bad and/or they are seen as a really weak president. In the last several cycles each prez gets 8 years then it switches to the other party unless he makes one of those two fatal mistakes. Then he will only get 4 years before it switches parties.

The talking heads can blabber on about ideals, etc, but it always comes down to how the public feels about the economy. If they and their family are doing OK and most of their friends are doing OK, they will vote for who ever is in office. If not, they will vote for the other person."

I do not like Obama and was hoping like hell everyone was smart enough not to vote for the fool, but even then I was talking about the 8 year cycle. Carter got booted after 4 because of the Iran hostages and his failed rescue attempt. The GOP got another 4 years with Bush 1 because Reagan was so popular and the economy was doing OK. As it stands the voters are tired of the Dems not fixing anything and will give the GOP a chance. If and when they can not get it done, it will go back to the Dems. Personally I am beginning to believe that for us political junkies the primaries are all that makes a difference. You try to get the best person running as your candidate and hope the masses don't screw it up.
